LUXI Project – Chromatic Balances Lands of Sardinia

From an idea of Isabella Breda (isabellabreda.it) as a result of the residency at the Ventanas creative residency, the project LUXI – Chromatic balances lands of Sardinia was born.

Colors and shapes imprinted in memory weave into the imagination the chromatic hues of the Sardinian lands collected in a color chart. Earth, a malleable material transformed into its prestigious finish. In the connection between color perception and touch, the surfaces characterized by the different textures are made to touch, suggesting coloring with your eyes closed. Earth and color perfect pair, true poetry for the senses.

THE CRUDE EARTH MATERIAL
Earth is a material that has been used around the world for centuries, with different technologies depending on its characteristics. In se earth is a material composed of aggregates (gravels, sands and silts) and binder (the clay). When mixed with water, earth can be put in place with different techniques, forming building components that can be used for every element of the structure: masonry, roofing, insulation panels, siding and trim, flooring, furniture, etc.

ART – COLOR IS MATTER
Exhibition section to disseminate and highlight: the chromatic richness of Sardinia’s soils through artistic arrangements.

MATTER BECOMES MATERIAL
Earth with its colors becomes a prestigious interior-design finish. Decorative raw earth plasters with salubrious characteristics. Tailored sewn solutions, textures that recall the textile tradition using various decorative techniques suitable both for use in structures to be restored and in more contemporary settings.

TRAINING
Raising awareness of the use of raw earth through art and design and also through workshops
that aim to revitalize environments predominantly made of raw earth but also belonging to the urban fabric.
